Colette Maranda
COMMUNITY RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE & ARTISTIC STAFF
Colette has been dancing since the age of nine and teaching dance for 20 years. She started assisting in classes when she was in junior high and started teaching in high school. She has trained in ballet, tap and jazz. Her experience includes dancing with many performing groups. She has had roles in Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and Phantom of the Opera. She started competing in dance competitions when she was fourteen. She is also the community relations representative at TDC. She organizes fundraising, career days and other events. In addition to her love of dance, Colette earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and taught kindergarten for ten years. She recently started back in the classroom teaching Kindergarten and First Grade students. She is a Reading Specialist and has had extensive training in teaching Language Arts with a specialty in Early Childhood Education. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2004. She is happily married to her husband Thomas and is the proud mother of three beautiful daughters- Isabella, Brooke, and Sofia. She loves working with children and can’t imagine having any other profession.
