Arnel Vasquez
Arnel has always had a knack for dance. Inspired by the music of stars such as Michael Jackson and MC Hammer, as well as imitating dance moves of his older brother, Alex Vasquez, Arnel learned to freestyle and choreograph at an early age. It was not until Arnel’s senior year at Temecula Valley High School in 2007 that he began his formal dance training at Temecula Dance Company (TDC), where FORMALity’s founder, Erik Saradpon honed his skills. After training in all styles of hip-hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and musical theater (with the wonderful direction of TDC’s company teachers), Arnel joined the ranks of FORMALity, where he was given the opportunity to perform and teach workshops nationally and internationally. He has performed at venues throughout the US, Canada, and UK, appeared on Paula Abdul’s television show, Live to Dance (with the group Theatrix,) and was chosen as a cast member of the Monsters of Hip Hop Showcase in Los Angeles in 2014. He spent a year in Montreal teaching at Studio A, where he also trained in the urban dance styles of house, locking, and breaking. To this day, Arnel continues his training in a constant pursuit of knowledge, from taking classes and workshops around the US, and training with some of the best choreographers in the dance industry. He believes a great dancer must be versatile, dedicated, and passionate, and must always approach it with an open mind. Arnel is currently signed with MSA Talent Agency, and has recently danced for recording artist Pia Mia, appearing in her music video “Do It Again” featuring Chris Brown and Tyga.
